October 12, 13, 2018 – SOMOS – 108 Civic Plaza Drive, Taos, NM

Make your plans now to attend the 19th annual Taos Storytelling Festival, October 12-13, 2018 in beautiful downtown Taos.

Founded 19 years ago, The Taos Storytelling Festival has grown into one of the most exciting, sweetest, thought-provoking storytelling festivals in America.

It’s exciting because storytelling inspires a spectrum of emotions which will make you laugh, smile, cry, chuckle, wonder, question, listen, and engage.

It’s sweet because when you gather with storytellers and those who love stories a bright mode of light-hearted communication emerges, generous, open and curious.

It’s thought-provoking because the stories you’ll hear will give you intellectual anchors like images, metaphors, lines, narratives, jokes, and wisdom which will inform your thinking for years to come.

Join our happy band of storytellers at SOMOS’ 19th annual Taos Storytelling Festival, Spread the word. Invite your neighbors. Tell your story at the story swap. Make new friends. Connect with old friends. Thank you for your support.

This workshop offers you an opportunity to discover better who you are through exploring and listening deeply to your own story. During the workshop, you will focus on the questions “Where are you from?” and “How does where you are from inform the definition of who you are?” while writing your own stories, exploring your family tree, studying storytelling techniques and learning from Minton’s work and experience. Minton will then guide you through using your stories to create various poems, pictures, and performances. No writing or performance experience necessary.
